Symptoms of lumbar spine fractures

Common symptoms of lumbar fractures include pain, swelling and bruising, limited mobility, and neurological symptoms.

1. Pain

is one of the common symptoms of lumbar fractures, usually occurring immediately after injury and may gradually worsen. Pain may radiate to the leg or hip.

2. Swelling and bruising

may occur at the injured site, which is caused by a ruptured blood vessel caused by the fracture.

3. Patients with limited mobility

may feel limited mobility in the lower back, even unable to stand or walk.

4. Neurological symptoms

In severe cases, fractures may compress nerves, resulting in numbness, weakness, incontinence, and other neurological symptoms.
