Are anal fissures caused by hemorrhoids

Anal fissure is the formation of pain and bleeding caused by dry and hard stool passing through the anal canal, which ruptures, tears, and even damages the anal sphincter. Hemorrhoids are formed by pathological hypertrophy, displacement, and tortuous expansion of venous vessels. The causes and clinical manifestations of these two diseases are different. Patients may suffer from hemorrhoids and anal fissure at the same time. Hemorrhoids may cause perianal eczema, anal pruritus and anal sphincter relaxation, but there is no hemorrhoids to cause anal fissure. Anal fissure sometimes causes connective tissue external hemorrhoids, i.e. sentinel hemorrhoids. During hemorrhoidectomy, if anal fissure is found, it can be removed at the same time. If hemorrhoids are found during anal fissure surgery, they can also be removed together.
