There are two main types of vision correction surgery, corneal surgery and lens surgery. The former includes excimer laser keratectomy or femtosecond or all-femtosecond laser surgery. The latter includes lens extraction combined with intraocular lens implantation and intraocular lens implantation for phakic eyes. Under normal circumstances, patients with indications and no contraindications are safer to undergo vision correction surgery. However, there are still risks and complications, such as discomfort and pain after excimer laser keratoplasty, delayed corneal epithelial healing, corneal haze, refractive undercorrection or overcorrection, refractive regression, corneal infection, recurrence of viral keratitis, corticosteroid high intraocular pressure and other complications.
