Meniscus injury to what extent need surgery

If the patient has knee injury, and if meniscus injury is suspected, it is necessary to limit the weight bearing of the lower limbs and the flexion and extension of the knee joint. In this case, it is best to use a cast or external fixation bracket. After fixation, seek medical advice and perform MRI examination of the knee joint. After MRI examination, the meniscus injury degree should be observed. If there is no meniscus tear or fracture, conservative plaster stent or support external fixation can be used for 1 month. Cold towel or ice bag can be applied to knee joint within 24 hours after injury. After 24 hours, blood circulation medicine and hot compress can be used appropriately. If meniscus tear or fracture is found after examination, conservative treatment is of little significance and surgery is required.
