The coccyx fracture can be treated conservatively and surgically.

1. Conservative treatment

Generally, non-displaced coccyx fractures can be treated conservatively, including bed rest for 3 to 4 weeks after getting up in plaster shorts, sitting cushion or sponge to protect the local, relieve pressure. Local can also be reduced by hot compress and physical therapy. For displaced coccyx fractures, manual reduction may be required, but reduction is usually not ideal.

2. Surgical treatment In the

case of unsuccessful manual reduction, open reduction and internal fixation may be required. In the case of sacral or lower coccyx fractures, if nerve compression symptoms occur, sacral canal decompression or sacral nerve exploration and release may be required.
