How to treat proximal fibula fracture

The proximal fibula fracture can be treated with general treatment, drug treatment and surgical treatment.

1. General treatment

If the fracture is mild and there is no obvious displacement, plaster or splint fixation can be given. At the same time, nutrition can be strengthened and foods rich in calcium and protein can be eaten to promote fracture healing.

2. Drug treatment

For pain caused by fracture site, patients can choose celecoxib, ibuprofen and diclofenac sodium as prescribed.

3. Surgical treatment

If the fracture is obviously displaced, or accompanied by vascular and nerve damage, surgery is required to restore bone shape and repair damaged soft tissue.
