How to know if cancer has returned

Cancer usually refers to malignant tumor. The biggest characteristic of cancer is that it is easy to relapse and metastasize. Even after surgery, many cancers may relapse. If the cancer recurs, it may generally show the corresponding symptoms. If the cancer recurs in the original site, it may show the same symptoms as before treatment. If it shows metastasis in other parts, it may show the symptoms of the corresponding metastatic site. To further determine whether cancer has recurred, imaging and endoscopy are required in many cases. If cancer recurs in solid organs, B-ultrasound, CT or MRI can be performed; if organs such as gastrointestinal tract and other hollow organs need endoscopy, further pathological examination should be performed if necessary. If conditions permit, a whole-body pet-ct examination can be performed to determine whether cancer recurs and where cancer recurs.
