Type 1 diabetes is usually treated with insulin and oral hypoglycemic drugs. Insulin is usually injected subcutaneously, which is the absolute indication for type 1 diabetes. Type 2 diabetes is often treated with oral hypoglycemic drugs, but in some special cases, insulin can also be used to treat it.
