Congenital cerebral cysts

Building bridges to better health.
Congenital brain cysts generally refer to arachnoid cysts, cerebrospinal fluid-like cystic fluid surrounded by the formation of a pocket-like structure in the arachnoid, divided into congenital and secondary two types. Congenital is more common arachnoid cysts, secondary mainly due to intracranial inflammation, craniocerebral trauma, or caused by surgery. For brain cysts without space-occupying effect, regardless of its size and location, generally do not need treatment, but should be regularly followed up review. Surgery is usually performed on patients with symptoms and tension of the cyst. There are many surgical methods, such as cystoperitoneal shunt, craniotomy to remove part of the cyst wall, and communication between the cyst and the surrounding cisterna.
