What are the risks after cholecystectomy?

Clinically, patients undergoing cholecystectomy may experience short-term symptoms such as dyspepsia, diarrhea, and abdominal distension. Cholecystectomy may lead to an increased incidence of colon cancer; liver damage; alkaline reflux gastritis; and an increased incidence of bile duct stones.
