What are the risks of tooth extraction?

Tooth extraction is an invasive procedure, which may cause local bleeding and infection; anesthesia is usually used because of severe pain during tooth extraction, but anesthesia may lead to temporary facial paralysis, coma and syncope; tooth extraction may also damage nerves, adjacent teeth and roots.
