The infectious period of chickenpox is from one or two days before the onset to the scab rash. During this period, as long as normal people and patients are in close contact, they are likely to be infected with chickenpox. After the scab falls off, there is basically no infectivity, but for safety reasons, it is best to isolate for another week or so.
