Operation timing of ventricular septal defect

If the ventricular septal defect is small and the defect is between 3 and 5mm, surgery can be performed after one year of age. If the defect is large and more than 7mm, surgery can be performed after six months of age. If it is a dry ventricular defect, surgery should be performed promptly.
