What is the treatment of thyroid nodules?

Thyroid nodules are common in clinic, most of them are benign lesions, but there are also some malignant lesions. The basic treatment is surgical resection, but benign lesions usually only need to remove the hyperplastic parts, while malignant lesions need to remove the surrounding thyroid tissue, even total thyroidectomy.
