Intestinal obstruction in children

Intestinal obstruction in children is identified by symptoms and imaging. Patients with intestinal obstruction typically present with vomiting, abdominal pain, and difficulty defecating. Within 4-6 hours of onset, significant gas accumulation can be seen on imaging in the supine position.
