Adrenoleukodystrophy is a lipid metabolism disorder caused by peroxidase deficiency. It is a sex-chromosome recessive genetic disease. It mainly involves adrenal gland and white matter. It usually occurs in boys in normal childhood and mainly manifests as progressive psychomotor disorders, decreased vision and hearing, or adrenal cortical dysfunction. Specific manifestations include preschool children's performance regression, crying, giggling and other emotional disorders; Late symptoms include quadriplegia, epilepsy, and decerebralization.
