What can be detected by brain plain scan

Brain CT scan can check cerebral hemorrhage, cerebral infarction, brain tumor, hydrocephalus, brain injury, encephalitis, brain atrophy and other manifestations, brain MRI scan can check cerebral infarction, encephalitis, brain tumor, brain congenital malformation, brain trauma and so on. MRI has no radioactive damage, can clearly show the brain stem, cerebellum and posterior cranial fossa lesions, which is superior to CT. Head CT is superior to MRI in diagnosis of hemorrhage and traumatic diseases, especially cerebral hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage and skull fracture. Therefore, according to different conditions of patients, suitable brain plain CT or MRI should be selected for rapid diagnosis.
