There are currently eight major types of heart disease. The first is caused by arteriosclerosis, the second and third are caused by cardiomyopathy and cardiovascular disease. The fourth is caused by congenital disease. The fifth and sixth are valvular disease and pericardial disease. The seventh and eighth are inflammation and tumor.
