CSF cell count normal

Committed to your well-being.
There are no red blood cells in cerebrospinal fluid, only a few white blood cells, that is, lymphocytes. Normal adults are (0-5×10^6/L, children are (0-15×10^6/L. Clinical significance lies in the suppurative encephalitis, suppurative meningitis when the number of cells can reach 1000×10^6/L, and neutrophils dominated. In tuberculous meningitis, the cell count is normally less than 500×10^6/L, with neutrophils predominating in the early stages and lymphocytes predominating in the later stages. The presence of neutrophils, lymphocytes, and plasma cells is characteristic of tuberculous meningitis. In viral meningitis, the cell count is relatively small, in the range of tens of times 10^6/L, and lymphocytes predominate. In meningeal leukemia, immature cells appear.
