CT values are a reflection of the density of human tissue, which we often express in HU units. CT values of normal human tissue range from negative-1000 to +1000HU units. Air has the lowest density, which is basically close to negative 1000HU units; fat tissue is next, which is about negative tens of HU units; then the middle value is water and liquid, and the CT value is zero HU units; and then soft tissue bones and so on. CT values vary from +20 to +1000Hu units depending on the density and porosity of the original tissue. Therefore, our conventional C value ranges from-1000 to +1000Hu units, and the C value of water is 0HU units.
