Acupuncture points for stroke

Restoring balance, one patient at a time.
Stroke is divided into two parts in TCM: middle meridians and middle zang-fu organs. Stroke is similar to cerebrovascular diseases in modern medicine. Acupuncture treatment of stroke should be based on clinical stages, which are divided into acute stage, recovery stage and sequela stage. Acute stage refers to the onset of middle meridians within one week, the onset of middle zang-fu organs within one month, the recovery stage within half a year after the acute stage, and sequela stage for more than half a year. In acute stage, acupuncture intervention should be performed as soon as possible after the condition is stable. At this time, head acupoints are mainly selected, such as Baihui Toutaiyang, Shenting Toushangxing, Fengchi and Fengfu. In recovery stage, head and body acupuncture are commonly used in combination with rehabilitation exercise. Head acupuncture normally selects parietal temporal front oblique line and parietal temporal rear oblique line. Acupoints on limbs can be selected on hemiplegia side, upper limbs can be selected at Hegu, Waiguan, Quchi, Jianqi, Jianqi, Fengchi and other acupoints. Lower limb acupoints normal selection Zusanli, Sanyinjiao, Yinlingquan, Xuanzhong, Kunlun, Taichong, Jiexi and other acupoints, if the patient's speech is unclear, can be added to the sublingual Jinjin point, Yuye point two acupoints, strong stimulation without needle retention.
