Position of posterior urethra

Dedicated to your healing journey.
The posterior urethra is a part of the male urethra, located behind the prostate gland.
The posterior urethra begins at the internal meatus and ends at the external meatus. It includes the prostatic portion of the urethra and the membranous portion of the urethra. The prostatic portion of the urethra is located behind the prostate gland and immediately between the bladder neck and the urogenital diaphragm. This portion of the urethra is relatively short, about 1.5-2 cm long and 0.5-0.7 cm in diameter. The urethra membrane is another part of the posterior urethra, located between the urethra prostate and the external urethral orifice. This part of the urethra is longer, about 1.5-2 cm long and 0.7-0.9 cm in diameter. It is located below the urogenital diaphragm and consists of two muscles, namely the internal urethral sphincter and the external urethral sphincter.
