How to sterilize a catheter

Healing hearts, healing lives.
The steps of catheter disinfection include preparing the material, determining the disinfection site, wiping and drying, etc. The relevant explanations are as follows:
1. Prepare the material
Before disinfection of the catheter, thoroughly clean hands with soap and water to ensure that hands are clean. Prepare the tools required for disinfection, such as sterile gloves, disinfection solution, sterile gauze, etc.
2. Determine the disinfection site
Determine the part where the catheter contacts the skin, usually the skin around the catheter insertion point.
3. Wipe and dry.
Dip the disinfection solution with sterile gauze, then gently wipe the skin around the catheter insertion point to ensure that the entire area is covered and keep the wiped area wet. Let the disinfection solution naturally dry on the skin surface.
