Urethral polyps
are benign growths on the inner wall of the urethra. If the polyps are small in size, and the patient is treated in a timely manner, the prognosis is usually good, generally not serious. But if the polyps are large in size, and the patient fails to treat them in time, they may block the urethra, causing dysuria, and repeated urinary tract infections may occur, generally more serious.
Patients with urethral polyps should maintain perineal hygiene and change their underwear frequently. Drink plenty of water on diet, help flush the urethra, and pay attention to quitting smoking and alcohol.
