Efficacy and role of Danhong injection

Danhong Injection is composed of Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae, Flos Carthami and water for injection. It has the effects of promoting blood circulation, removing blood stasis, dredging meridians, and relaxing collaterals. It can be used for treating chest obstruction and apoplexy caused by blood stasis, chest pain, palpitation, mouth and eye deviation, speech disorder, unclear articulation, limb numbness, and adverse movement. It can be used for treating coronary heart disease, angina pectoris, myocardial infarction, blood stasis type pulmonary heart disease, ischemic encephalopathy, and cerebral thrombosis. Danshen enters the heart meridian and pericardium meridian to open the heart orifice, activate blood circulation and remove blood stasis, and relieve pain. Safflower enters the heart meridian to activate blood circulation and remove blood stasis and relieve pain. Both of them are used together to play the role of activating blood circulation and opening meridians. It is prohibited for allergic patients, pregnant women, nursing women and those with bleeding tendency.
