What is Shaoyang Syndrome?

Shaoyang syndrome is a symptom caused by exogenous pathogens invading Shaoyang or Shaoyang stagnation and heat. Shaoyang mainly refers to the gallbladder meridian of foot Shaoyang. When exogenous pathogens invade Shaoyang, it shows symptoms of cold and heat in the whole body, bitter mouth and dry throat, headache, mainly manifested as pain on both sides of the head, back muscle soreness and pain on both sides of the spine, pain on both sides of the ribs, etc. It should be treated with clearing Shaoyang and giving Xiaochaihu Decoction orally. Shaoyang syndrome caused by stagnation of Shaoyang meridian often shows fever, bilateral head pain, dizziness, bitter acid swallowing, obvious pain under bilateral ribs, anorexia, yellow face and whole body, sore eyes, red tongue, yellow fur, etc. It should be treated with soothing liver and gallbladder, and can be treated with Longdan Xiegan Decoction or Chaihu Shugan Powder.
