Steps of flexible ureteroscopy

The procedure of flexible ureteroscope includes anesthesia, laying sterile towel, inserting flexible ureteroscope, lithotripsy, etc.

Anesthesia is required for the first step of flexible ureteroscope lithotripsy, mainly including general anesthesia or epidural anesthesia, in order to reduce the discomfort caused by surgery.

2. Sterile towel

is laid on the operation site to prevent infection during surgery.

3. After inserting flexible ureteroscope, the

doctor will insert flexible ureteroscope into bladder through urethra and find the position of stones under the guidance of X-ray or B-ultrasound.

4. Lithotripsy After finding

stones, the doctor will use laser or ultrasonic energy source to crush the stones into small particles, and then remove the crushed stones with stone basket or stone removal net.
