Urinary fistula and incontinence are different in concept, etiology and population.
First, the concept is different. Urinary
fistula is an abnormal passage formed between the genital tract and the urinary tract. Urinary incontinence refers to the involuntary outflow of urine through the urethra.
Second, the etiology is different. Urinary
fistula is generally caused by birth injury, gynecological surgery injury, trauma, radiation therapy and other factors. Urinary incontinence is caused by various factors leading to excessive bladder pressure and low urethral pressure.
