What is Nephroblastoma?

The etiology of nephroblastoma is still unclear. The basic etiology may be related to abnormal proliferation of renal cells and gene mutations. The inducing factors include urinary tract abnormalities. The analysis is as follows:

1. Abnormal proliferation of renal cells.

In the process of fetal development, if there are no mature renal cells, abnormal proliferation may occur and develop into nephroblastoma.

2. Gene mutations

If the child has gene mutations such as WT1, CTNNB1, WTX, etc., it may increase the risk of nephroblastoma.

2. Predisposing factors

If the child itself has urinary tract abnormalities such as cryptorchidism and hypospadias, it is also easy to induce nephroblastoma.
