Prostate tumor markers
are prostate specific antigen (PSA), a glycoprotein secreted by prostate epithelial cells. There are total PSA and free PSA. In general, the normal reference range of PSA is 0-4ng/ml. When the PSA value is 4-10ng/ml, the ratio of free PSA to total PSA is less than 0.16. Prostate tumor or even prostate cancer is considered.
In addition to prostate tumor and prostate cancer, benign prostatic hyperplasia, prostatitis disease, infarction, etc. may increase the PSA value, so it is recommended that patients should undergo further examination to determine whether prostate tumor exists.
