How long does it take to have a hernia?

The length of swelling after hernia surgery depends on the individual circumstances.

If the patient has minimally invasive surgery, such as laparoscopic hernia repair, and good postoperative care, the symptoms of swelling will disappear in about 3-5 days. However, if the patient has traditional surgery, such as traditional hernia repair, or if the patient has infection due to improper postoperative care, the swelling of the spermatic cord and testis will last longer and may disappear in 1-2 weeks.

Patients should keep the wound clean and dry after hernia surgery to prevent infection. They should also eat foods rich in protein and vitamins to promote wound healing.
