Symptoms and Treatment of Viral Herpes

The symptoms of viral herpes mainly depend on which herpes virus it is. If herpes simplex virus infection, it will normally show clusters of blisters on the skin or mucous membranes, followed by erosion and crusts. If herpes zoster virus infection is caused by herpes zoster virus infection, it will show clusters of blisters along the trigeminal nerve, intercostal nerve or caudal sacral nerve, accompanied by obvious neuralgia. The normal course of disease is about two weeks. Antiviral drugs such as acyclovir, valciclovir and famciclovir are the main treatments. For obvious neuralgia, painkillers such as pregabalin and gabapentin can also be combined with some red light treatment.
