Can CT detect stomach cancer?

Your health, my unwavering commitment.
CT can't detect stomach cancer. The diagnosis of gastric cancer is the authoritative method of gastroscopy and gastric histopathology biopsy, fasting for 8~12 hours and water deprivation for 2 hours before examination to prevent food residue or water in the stomach from affecting the accuracy of the test results. Gastric histopathology biopsy is the gold standard for the diagnosis of gastric cancer, and cancer cells can be found. CT examination is the basic method for staging gastric cancer before treatment. It is generally recommended to be performed after diagnosis of gastric cancer, to understand the extent of cancer cell spread, and to determine N and M stages. Patients can also undergo ultrasound gastroscopy to clarify T staging.
