What do the colors of bile suggest?

Under normal circumstances, the color of bile should be golden yellow. If the color of bile turns dark brown or black, it may be caused by biliary obstruction. If the patient is in biliary obstruction for a long time, the bile pigment will be gradually absorbed, resulting in the color of bile becoming pale or even transparent. Secondly, if the bile contains yellow purulent and flocculent substances, it may indicate that the patient has biliary infection. If there is a bloody fluid in the bile, it indicates that the patient has hemobilia, which may be caused by biliary inflammatory diseases.
