Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) cannot be completely cured.

The exact cause of IBS is unknown and may be due to an interplay of multiple factors, including abnormal bowel movements, sensitive bowel perception, and neuroendocrine regulation, which makes it difficult to treat specific causes. At the same time, IBS is often a recurrent disease, and there is currently no specific drug or treatment that can completely eradicate the disease. Patients may experience intermittent symptoms worsening and remission. Even if symptoms are effectively controlled over time, there is still a risk that symptoms may recur, making it difficult to completely cure the disease.
