Can gastroscope and colonoscopy be examined together?

Gastroscopy and colonoscopy are usually performed together.

Gastroscopy is used to examine the inside of the esophagus, stomach and duodenum, and colonoscopy is used to examine the inside of the colon and rectum. Both tests are performed by inserting a flexible tubular mirror into the body to observe and examine the inside of the digestive tract. Gastroscopy and colonoscopy can usually be performed in the same examination, reducing inconvenience and time cost to the patient.

Patients should be prepared for both examinations, usually fasting for more than 6 hours, so as not to interfere with the examination.
