There are several types of severe acute pancreatitis.

Restoring balance, one patient at a time.
Severe acute pancreatitis can be divided into two types: interstitial edematous pancreatitis and necrotic pancreatitis. The
degree of pathological changes in pancreatic tissue is different between interstitial edematous pancreatitis and necrotic pancreatitis. Interstitial edematous pancreatitis is mainly characterized by diffuse or localized enlargement of pancreas, accompanied by enhanced and uneven pancreatic echo. Necrotizing pancreatitis is more severe, with ischemic necrosis of pancreatic tissue. Imaging examination can reveal diffuse enlargement of pancreas and widening of peripancreatic space.
Patients need to visit the gastroenterology department of the hospital in time for active intervention to improve the prognosis.
