Gallbladder polyps are benign neoplastic lesions that occur on the gallbladder wall of a patient. The tumor tissue is small.
Gallbladder polyps are divided into neoplastic polyps and non-neoplastic polyps. Benign gallbladder polyps include cholesterol polyps, inflammatory polyps, adenomatous polyps, adenomyosis, and ectopic polyps. Gallbladder adenomatous polyps are potential precancerous lesions that are associated with the occurrence of gallbladder cancer. Patients with gallbladder polyps may experience discomfort such as epigastric discomfort, abdominal pain, flatulence, nausea, vomiting, and loss of appetite.
