Is superficial gastritis atrophic gastritis?

Superficial gastritis generally refers to chronic superficial gastritis. Chronic superficial gastritis is not atrophic gastritis.

Chronic superficial gastritis is generally called chronic non-atrophic gastritis in clinical practice. It refers to a disease characterized by plasma cell or lymphocyte infiltration in the gastric mucosa under the action of certain pathogenic factors. It may also be accompanied by erosion and bile reflux, but there is no atrophy of the gastric mucosa. Atrophic gastritis refers to a gastric disease in which the inherent glands of the gastric mucosa atrophy. The two are completely opposite diseases and are not the same.
