Reflux esophagitis may be caused by abnormal esophageal sphincter function, abnormal esophageal motility, obesity and other factors.
1. Abnormal esophageal sphincter function The
lower esophageal sphincter is the muscle tissue connecting the esophagus and stomach. Its abnormal function may cause acid and digestive juice to reflux to the esophagus.
2. Abnormal esophageal motility
The uncoordinated or weakened esophageal motility may cause acid to stay in the esophagus for a longer time, which will increase the risk of reflux and induce disease.
3. Obesity
will increase the intra-abdominal pressure of patients, thus promoting acid and digestive juice reflux to the esophagus.
