How long can the drainage tube be pulled out after pancreatitis operation

Empowering you to live your best life.
The drainage tube is usually removed after pancreatitis surgery for 1-28 days.
For patients with mild pancreatitis or smooth recovery after surgery, the drainage tube is mainly placed to drain pancreatic juice and reduce the accumulation of pancreatic secretions to promote pancreatic healing. The drainage tube often only needs to be left for a short period of time, usually 1-4 days. If the pancreatitis is severe and the disease is related to gallstones, laparoscopic choledocholithotomy is performed, and the drainage tube may need to be left for 21-28 days before removal. Long-term indwelling of drainage tube helps to monitor pancreatic secretions, remove effusion in time, and prevent complications such as infection and abscess.
