Duodenal ulcer can cause stomach cancer

Duodenal ulcer usually does not lead to gastric cancer, but if the disease is serious, it may lead to gastric cancer.

Duodenal ulcer is mostly caused by increased gastric acid secretion, inflammation infection, genetic factors and other reasons, leading to local mucosal ulcer. Duodenal ulcer patients can be treated by changing bad eating habits, as well as oral gastric mucosal protective agents and acid suppressants prescribed by doctors. Most patients can be cured and generally do not lead to gastric cancer. However, if the patient's disease develops rapidly, the ulcer at the duodenum may extend to the stomach, and repeated damage to the gastric mucosa may cause abnormal hyperplasia, thus forming gastric cancer.
