How long can acupuncture touch water?

After acupuncture, you can touch water for one to twenty-four hours.

If you are using a needle, because it causes less damage to the skin, you can touch water for one to two hours after acupuncture. If you are using a triangular needle, or if there is obvious damage to the skin, you may need to touch water twenty-four hours after acupuncture to reduce the risk of secondary infection.

After acupuncture, patients should also keep the local skin clean and dry. For people with obvious skin lesions, iodine can be used for disinfection.
