TCM Etiology of Bilateral Bronchiectasis

Building a healthier future, together.
Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) generally believes that the causes of bilateral bronchiectasis are invasion of exogenous pathogens, blood stasis blocking the lungs, congenital deficiency, etc.
1. External pathogens
invade the lungs due to external wind pathogens and heat pathogens, resulting in a large loss of yin fluid in the lungs, a imbalance of yin and yang, and a strong internal fire, resulting in heat injury to the lung collaterals, thus causing bilateral bronchiectasis.
2. Blood stasis blocking the lungs
If the blood is viscous and flows slowly, it will cause blood stasis and block the pulmonary veins.
3. Congenital deficiency
causes lung qi weakness due to congenital dysplasia. The physiological function of the lungs is weakened, and the defense ability is reduced. It is easy to be invaded by exogenous pathogens, causing the above phenomenon.
