How to treat baby strabismus

The treatment of infant strabismus generally includes wearing glasses treatment and surgical treatment.

1. Wearing glasses treatment

is a common way. If the child is too young to do glasses correction, wait until about 3 years old, depending on the time the child can receive glasses treatment, the sooner the better. Wearing glasses treatment should first obtain the refractive power of the child's eyes through optometry and other methods, and then wear appropriate glasses.

2. Surgical treatment

Surgical treatment is also an effective treatment. In the case of poor correction effect after wearing glasses for 1~2 years or other surgical indications, it is recommended to consider surgical correction. The main surgical methods are bilateral medial rectus muscle retraction and bilateral medial rectus muscle retraction combined with lateral rectus muscle shortening.

For children with severe refractive differences between the two eyes, it is also possible to adopt the method of shading correction. It is recommended to go to the hospital regularly for training treatment of synoptophore or stereoscope to restore the single vision function of both eyes and establish stereoscopic perception.
