What are male tumor markers?

Guiding you to a healthier tomorrow.
Male tumor markers are biomarkers indicative of specific tumors in men.
Some tumor markers are abnormally elevated early in the tumor, and regular testing can detect potential tumor risk before symptoms appear, buying time for early diagnosis and treatment. For example, prostate specific antigen (PSA) is important for early screening of prostate cancer. Also, although elevated tumor markers may indicate the presence of tumors, they cannot be diagnosed by their elevation alone. It is also necessary to combine clinical symptoms, imaging, pathological biopsy and other aspects of information to make a comprehensive judgment. Because some non-tumor diseases may also lead to increased tumor markers, such as inflammation, etc.
In addition, during tumor treatment, dynamic monitoring of tumor marker changes can help evaluate the effect of treatment. If the tumor marker level decreases after treatment, it usually indicates that the treatment is effective; if the tumor marker increases again after treatment, it may indicate tumor recurrence or progression.
