What does cervical conization mean?

Empathy in care, excellence in medicine.
Cervical conization is a surgical method used to diagnose and treat cervical lesions. Cervical
conization can be performed by removing part of cervical tissue for pathological examination, which can more accurately clarify the degree and nature of cervical lesions, especially for the evaluation of precancerous lesions. For example, when cervical smear or biopsy finds abnormalities, but the specific extent and severity of the lesions cannot be clarified, cervical conization can further clarify the diagnosis and provide evidence for subsequent treatment. At the
same time, for some high-grade precancerous lesions, cervical conization can remove the diseased tissue and reduce the risk of cervical cancer. It can effectively remove the lesion area and prevent further development of the lesion. However, close follow-up is still needed after surgery to monitor whether there is recurrence of the lesion. However, it should also be noted that postoperative procedures may also cause bleeding, infection and other complications, which need to be closely observed and appropriately treated.
