How to do cervical smear examination

Healing hearts, one patient at a time.
Pap smear is a method of gently scraping a cell sample from the surface of the cervix with a special brush.
First, the patient should take a suitable position, usually lying on the examination bed, while the doctor will use a vaginal dilator to open the vaginal opening to fully expose the cervix. Then, the collected cell sample can be evenly spread on the slide. This step is very important for subsequent cell analysis and diagnosis, ensuring that the cells are evenly distributed on the slide.
In addition, the slide is fixed and stained, and then sent to the laboratory for analysis. After professional processing and analysis, the morphology, structure and other characteristics of the cells can be observed to determine whether there are abnormalities.
