Is hysteroscopy the same as curettage?

Guiding you with care, every step of the way.
Hysteroscopy
is an endoscopic technique used for intrauterine examination and treatment. By placing a slender hysteroscope into the uterus, you can visually observe the shape and structure of the uterus, such as endometrium, uterine adhesions, polyps, fibroids, etc. Doctors can diagnose under direct vision and perform corresponding treatment operations according to specific conditions, such as removing polyps, separating adhesions, etc. Curettage is a traditional surgical operation, usually through curettes and other instruments to scratch the endometrium, in order to achieve the removal of uterine contents (such as residual tissue after abortion, abnormal hyperplasia of endometrium, etc.) or diagnostic curettage to obtain endometrial tissue for pathological examination purposes.
