Glaucoma is an eye disease
with elevated intraocular pressure, which
can cause damage to the optic nerve. Pupil dilation is caused by the use of drugs to dilate the pupils of the eye, usually used for eyeexaminations or treatments. However, in glaucoma patients, pupil dilation drugs may increase the resistance to aqueous outflow, causing a further increase in intraocular pressure, which can exacerbate glaucoma.
